It has been a while since our last update here and this is a good thing. We have enjoyed a nice summer doing normal summery and non cancery things. We’ve had fun at the beach, the lake, camps, the neighborhood pool, and spent good times with friends and family.
Lincoln has been through so much and been such a trooper through all of it. And that extends to all of the kids. They truly are great. I love seeing them being together and playing with each other. It’s nice to see their joyful spirits and not them worrying about what has been going on.
Recently Lincoln had a new battery of tests to determine where he stands after completing treatment. As of last week his tests came back normal and the oncologist used a word that anyone who is dealing with cancer hopes to hear…remission!!!
I laughed, I cried. I initially had a little difficulty saying it out loud because I almost felt like I might jinx it. But it’s a fact and we couldn’t be more relieved!
You never want to be in the position to be hoping for remission but that has been our path and we feel blessed to be here. We will always have to deal with the uncertainty that things could change down the road but we choose not to focus on that. Instead we are celebrating life, love, resiliency, grace, hope, and community.
Moving forward Lincoln will have to periodically submit for MRIs and lab work to keep an eye on things. We will continue to provide updates as we move forward. As always we are so grateful for all of you amazing people who have shown so much love and support. Thank you!!
