Just wanted to share that Lincoln’s latest round of surveillance MRIs and labwork are all normal! We didn’t have a reason to expect otherwise but I think we will have to get through a few more of these checkpoints before my cortisol levels will go down.
Lincoln continues to kick butt. He is doing well in school, he’s enjoying his rock climbing classes, and he is rounding out his basketball season as his soccer season begins. We celebrated his 11th birthday last month and he said for his birthday he wanted to try snow skiing. Apparently now it’s his new favorite sport! Larkin and the kids took a lesson and picked it up so fast and everyone had such a blast! I was able to dust off my skiing skills and managed to get out of there without an injury.
Going through that year of surgery, chemo, and radiation and then into remission was wild. It was a sort of whiplash. Our lives went from feeling normal to suddenly very abnormal and almost as suddenly back to normal again. Although it didn’t feel very normal. At least not right away. But it is starting to and that is welcome.
