Hello team. Let me first say that we are in a really good place right now! It has been a while since we have updated here but maybe that's a good thing? I am struggling to find what feels like the right words to communicate right now but here goes...
This whole process has been a whirlwind and while it feels like Lincoln got diagnosed 17 years ago it has actually only been 8 months. We are approaching what may represent the end of treatment and *dare I say* remission. This will be a whole new glorious phase that is called surveillance whereby Lincoln will get periodic testing to see if his cancer has returned. It's hard to accept that we can never fully close the door on this chapter of Lincoln's life; that we will always live with the fact that his cancer could come back. But it is a true blessing that we have a very good chance that he can move through a normal life without cancer. We have met several families that are going through this process that cannot say the same thing.
Lincoln has his last radiation treatment today after which he will ring the bell to signify the end of treatment. He got to do this after chemotherapy was finished but this will be a bit more special. We will post a video and pics of this momentous occasion.
I know we have said this before but it cannot be overstated; we are so grateful for all of the support that this community has provided. This milestone we are arriving at is huge and we could not have made it here alone. Thank you to all of you for everything you have have done and continue to do!
