Lemons Light
After taking a much-needed break to let her body recover, we're so excited to share that Lemon is finally getting strong enough to return to physical and occupational therapy soon! Every little bit of strength she gains feels like such a huge victory, and we can't wait to see what she's able to accomplish as she gets back into her routine.
At the end of July, we'll also be heading back to NAPA Center for another intensive! These therapy intensives are always hard work, but they've also been some of our favorite opportunities to watch Lemon surprise us with what she's capable of.
The Utah wildfires have made things a little more challenging lately, and Lemon's oxygen needs have been a bit all over the place with the poor air quality. Thankfully, we've been able to manage everything from home and are keeping a close eye on our girl. This has changed our needs a little and we are trying to get a portable oxygen concentrator for Lemon so traveling is easier when her respiratory health is not as good.
We're also feeling incredibly hopeful after meeting with several of Lemon's providers. They are genuinely excited and hopeful about some new treatment possibilities we're exploring over the coming months. While nothing is guaranteed, the goal is to help reduce her painful spasticity and clonus, give her more energy to participate in therapy and everyday life, and hopefully even reduce some of the sedating medications she currently relies on.
There's still a long road ahead, but for the first time in a while, it feels like we're stepping into a season filled with possibility. Thank you for continuing to cheer Lemon on and celebrate every milestone, big and small, with us. We can't wait to share what this next chapter brings. 💛🍋
