A better night's rest, Sunday 9/13/26

Joy and Drake shared that everyone had a pretty good night’s sleep, with Leah finding comfort cuddled up next to her daddy. As you can imagine, Leah wants someone she knows and trusts by her side at all times. We are especially thankful that Drake’s employer, along with the generosity and support they have received, has provided the flexibility for him to remain at the hospital, at least short-term, with Leah during this difficult time.

This morning, Leah will undergo her daily dressing change. Please continue to pray for Leah, Joy, Drake, and the medical team. This process is extremely painful and traumatic, and each day requires tremendous strength and courage from everyone involved.

On a personal note, today is Leah’s cousin’s (Kathryn Ruh) first birthday, and Leah will be missing the celebration. While that may seem like a small thing in comparison to everything they are facing, it is a difficult reminder of what this family is missing during this season. Their family and extended family are incredibly close, and it is hard to celebrate joyful milestones while walking through such a challenging journey.

Please continue to pray for healing, comfort, strength, and moments of peace for Leah and her entire family. ❤️
