Thanks to your generosity, Laura was able to secure an attorney JUST in time; and the attorney was able to attend the hearing this morning. Laura is thankful to have another support in her corner; especially as things continue to get more complex and, unfortunately, more challenging.

When Laura and I chatted on the phone this evening, she shared this quote with me as she reflected on the love and support she has felt from each of you this week:

"Sometimes in the middle of the night, the sun can seem like it was only ever a dream. We need something to remind us that it still exists, even if we can't see it. We need something beautiful hanging in the dark sky to remind us there is such a thing as daylight... the moon." -Armulyn in "The Warden and the Wolf King" (The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson)

THANK YOU for being something beautiful hanging in the dark sky to remind our friend that there IS such a thing as daylight in this dark, dark season.

Laura Rosenberg

One of my favorite things about being a mom is getting to share my love of children's literature with my kiddos. Snuggling down at the end of the day to read aloud together is simply the best. My son and I have been enjoying Andrew Peterson's "The Wingfeather Saga," and we read that excerpt on Wednesday night. After tucking the kids into bed, I reread it again for myself.

It reminds me of a verse I've held close: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5

We have an eternal hope in Christ. He never changes; He is faithful; He cannot be fooled; He is all-loving; He is merciful; He forgives; He is just; He will not forsake His children. He is the sun, and his light is reflecting off each of you. Truly as Elizabeth said, thank you so much for being the moon in my night sky. Thank you for helping us as my family awaits the dawn.
