Hello again friends,
I wanted to share the link to intercessor prayer sign up with you:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0B4CA4A722ABFC1-58003825-prayer#/
Thank you sweet Stephanie for creating this as a way to invite you to pray alongside us.
Thank you to my Wendy that has communicated to all of my people and coordinated all of the things so that you all can be well informed. She and Dan have been cautiously protecting me so that I can get sleep/rest in between visits.
I had the most special visitors yesterday - Zion, Leo and Isabel came for a beloved hour-long visit. We colored while Leo told us fun facts from our new fact book from my amazon wish list. I miss them so it was a cherished visit.
Today I will have another special visit from my God mother who is flying in from Colombia for the day to visit me and my aunt Rosa. My aunt Rosa has been at St. Joseph's hospital for the past 2 weeks. If you would also pray for her healing from autoimmune disease complications.
I've been in the chair and walking the halls today with my awesome and very knowledgable nurse, Serhar. He even helped me do stretches, lunges and calf raises to help the circulation. He is in NP school to be a Neuro-Acute Care NP and has taken great care of me today. I've had an improved appetite and better pain control with less heavy drugs today. Like I mentioned before, my body was very uncomfortable with the stronger interventions. Serhar has been able to help me manage my pain/strength with a better schedule/combination as we are now learning what is triggering my pain the most - my neck muscles that had to be tugged forcefully to the side for 4 hours during my first surgery. So as we target that it helps lessen the cascade of events and a more comfortable recovery. Not only was it uncomfortable every where but my head and neck felt heavy.
We are now in a holding pattern as we wait for my new PEEK printed skull to arrive for my second surgery. I'll be in the OR again and closer to going home to wear some fun scarves instead of hospital bandages. I am so looking forward to taking little walks in our cul-de-sac and breathing in fresh air. Dan's parents did an emergency stop at a friend's house yesterday to replenish my EO for my diffuser so it smells like a spa in here but there's no replacement to fresh air. We have my speaker plugged in 24/7 with scripture-based music and songs of worship and praise. My favorite has been Poor Bishop Hooper - thanks to my dear friend Fernanda for sharing their playlist with me. My surgeon has approved the 3D printing and they are moving mountains to get it here soon, but he also wants to make sure he has the right team in place before we go back to the OR either Saturday or Monday. This will also allow time for my ENT/Cranio-facial Plastic Surgeon to participate in the surgery. He came in the morning of my first surgery and they walked through their plan together. I'm in good hands with people God specifically hand picked and selected to be a part of my care team.
As this new wine skin is being formed in me, I can't help but sing Love on Fire by Jeremy Riddle..."I've got a love on fire, the kind of love that won't back down, I put off all my heaviness and I put on my garment of praise, You turned my mourning into dancing, and you turned my night into day!" Soon I will be singing this loudly from the rooftops and dancing in my new garments of praise. What satan meant for evil God turned around for our good and for His glory.
All the Glory to God!
