Wow. Where to begin?
Yesterday was a wonderful day. My children and myself joined a new local church (Compassion at Calvary) in Toledo, Ohio and were welcomed with open arms by people from all walks of life. It instantly felt like home. If you know me, I am a lover of all things "misfits", including myself :)
Story Time:
There once was a time not all that long ago that I cared so much about what other people thought of me. (WHAAAATTTT? The only person I should be worried about is GOD, right? So Silly.)
The other day someone close to me asked (out of genuine concern) how I felt needing to go to my daughter's cheer clinic in a wheelchair. (I am still quite weak and have so much muscle soreness that long distance walking is just not a thing at this time). I also use a cane as needed at the moment as well around the house due to intermittent unsteadiness.
I thought about it for a second and had to laugh.
For once....I DIDN'T CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE THOUGHT. The only thing that I cared about was SHOWING UP for my little girl.
Yesterday again since a lot of walking would have needed to happen and I was not quite all that steady; I needed to use the wheelchair and guess what? I DIDN'T CARE.
The only thing that mattered in the moment was the fact that I wanted to thank and praise GOD for allowing me to continue to live on this earth. I wanted to thank him for allowing me to see my babies grow, water my beautiful relationship with my partner and watch it abundantly grow while taking in as much time with all of my family and loved ones as possible for years to come.
I am so excited each day as I feel a smidge better little by little with the new treatment plan! Today I have an MRI of the brain. Will update those results once available.
Yes, I know, it will take weeks of healing. I am excited but promise to not get over-zealous. :)
Have a FANTASTIC Monday my friends.
Love,
Me.
