I celebrated ending DI a few hours too soon.

Emmy spiked a fever on Sunday night and we were off to the ER. We have been admitted since then and her next phase of treatment has been put on hold. 

Emmy spiked another fever last night and her ANC went from 1400 to 400, which makes her neutropenic.

We will remain in the hospital for more antibiotics, and until she is fever free for 24 hours. Her viral panel was negative and so far there is no growth on her blood cultures 🙌

The new plan is to start Blina next Monday as long as she has kicked this fever and counts improve my then.

This is a very unwelcome change in plans, but that’s why they told us from day 1, “it’s gonna be a roller coaster”.
