We are so close to our first goal! We are just $750 away from our first goal for our deposit for Kaysen’s service dog! We are so incredibly appreciative of everyone’s incredible support!
Kaysen is non verbal but is incredibly good at communicating. Kaysen uses an eye gaze communication device and his head to communicate his wants and needs. He much prefers using his head to make choices as it is less tiring.
Kaysen knows all his colors, animals and animal sounds, letters of his name, numbers 1-10, lots of dinosaur names, all Mickey Mouse characters, he is incredibly good at put things in order from biggest to smallest and smallest to biggest, and lots of other things that he shows us everyday. One of his favorite activities currently is building magnetile towers and knocking them over with his head! He uses his head to choose between objects and pictures to make selections. He has also started using head switches in speech therapy and is very good at it. His favorite word with his eye gaze and head switches is telling people to stop talking.
He always has a sense of humor.
With a service dog Kaysen would be able to use his eye gaze, head switches, or pictures and objects to communicate what he needs and wants, that the dog could retrieve for him. This would help so much with frustration for Kaysen!
