My first update

Hi everyone, thanks for being here!

This Support Registry is how we're rallying help for Kaysen.

Here's what's going on: We hit $1,000 dollars today!!🎉🥳 We are so beyond greatful for all the support so far. We are 1/25th of the way there! Kaysen is so so excited, we talk about getting his puppy everyday! It will truly be life changing for Kaysen. 

I will be trying to share different facts and information about Kaysen’s diagnoses along the way. 
HIE stands for:
Hypoxic-Insufficient oxygen reaching the brain.
Ischemic- An inadequate supply of blood flow to the brain, which deprives it of both oxygen and glucose.
Encephalopathy- Any disorder or disease of the brain. 

Kaysen lost oxygen when he was born resulting in his brain be starved of oxygen for a prolonged amount of time. When the brain is starved of oxygen for too long, it dies off. Resulting in those parts of the brain not working properly anymore. The amazing thing about the brain is that it can create new path ways, this is called neuro plasticity! This means with therapy and time, the brain can actually create new ways to make that part of the brain function, in a new way, again!
