Hi friends!
After a rough few days, not unexpected, we finally have some good progress. KK felt good last Saturday. She spent some time outside with her BFF and hanging at the nurses station. Sunday she started the downhill turn. She started with fever and chills. By Sunday night she had severe abdominal pain. After consults with OB/GYN, ultrasounds, and X-ray the results didn't show abnormality. The pain persisted and finally on Tuesday we got a CT scan. She had inflammation equivalent to diverticulitis probably from chemo. I began praying over her and had our prayer chain activate to pray as well. We refused to allow infection to take hold. We got a good switch up of antibiotics, and less than 12 hours later she started to perk up.
Pain and fever free since yesterday. She's had some good numbers come up today as well. The doctor was really pleased about that and said it's sooner than expected. We anticipate some back and forth with those numbers over the next few days, but are hopeful for testing at the end of next week. If those numbers continue to climb and hold for a few days, we may look at being discharged for a little bit before round 2.
I want to thank you for your support. It's been humbling on my part, and extremely generous on yours!!! We can't make it through this without all the prayers and love.
I am forever grateful.
