We have been quite busy since our last update. KK has now completed cycle 2 of chemotherapy. We are in the rest and recovery process at home. She did amazing. And being home has been glorious!!
We had 2 bone marrow biopsy's performed and both showed KK is in remission! Our confirmation call came this morning, July 8, for the second biopsy and she is definitely in remission. However, we have a delay in transplant timing. Originally she was set to check in on July 2, but with needing the repeat biopsy, it has delayed us. The plan now is a 3rd cycle of chemo to keep remission until transplant can be set up. Which brings me to some exciting news! I received a call from CHOA on 5/29/24 that there is a donor that is ready and available for transplant. 
We are so thrilled!! We have been, and continue to be, praying for this person. I'm so thankful for their willingness to give of themselves. Our prayer is that they remain healthy and available when the time is right. Kayleigh's body has to be fully ready and able to undergo the process of transplant, as well as the donor, medical team, and space available for it all. 

We were also encouraged that if for some reason if this particular donor is unable to proceed, there are 8 others that have said yes to being a donor as well.

I'm sorry it took me so long to update. Waiting has been so, so HARD. But God..

He's not done writing her story.

He is working every detail out even in the delay. Something wasn't right or ready and we trust He has it all worked out for her good. And we give Him the glory for it all. 
He is still here. He still answers prayers.
