Defibrillator Checkup

We have another good update to share!

Justin had his follow-up appointment at Oklahoma Heart Hospital and was able to have his staples removed. He still has some restrictions as he continues to heal, but he was thrilled to finally get some relief from the itchy Steri-Strips. Healing is rarely glamorous, but every little milestone feels worth celebrating.

Speaking of celebrations, Justin also got to celebrate his 40th birthday last week! While this certainly wasn’t how either of us imagined he’d spend the weeks leading up to such a milestone birthday, we are incredibly grateful that he was feeling well enough to enjoy the day. It was a sweet reminder that there is still so much joy to be found, even in the middle of a challenging season.

The good news continues: he’s regained most of his energy, is in great spirits, and is looking more like himself every day. We’re so thankful for how well his recovery has been going so far.

For those who have asked how they can help, we’ve updated our fundraising goal to reflect our current outstanding Oklahoma Heart Hospital bill. Reaching that amount will bring us to our family’s annual out-of-pocket maximum for the year, so we do not anticipate needing to increase the goal as Justin’s care continues.
