And she’s off! Everything went well with surgery check-in this morning. We opted to give her a medication that helps calm anxieties during separation but causes loopiness, one we haven’t had to use for her previous surgeries, and it was quite hilarious to see Joy acting so loosey goosey😂 it certainly brightened my mood in such a painful moment.  She typically cries if I even walk to the other side of the room, still in eyesight of her… but when they wheeled her back she didn’t bat an eye!!! 

The surgery should take roughly 2.5 hours so we’re looking at about a 3pm finishing time. I did find out from talking to the surgeons before she got taken back that she’s going to be in a cast for 3 weeks, not 2, so that was a huge bummer 😭 

Prayers for Dr. Kargel, Dr. Seaward, and Dr. Phen and their respective teams!! I’ll update again once she’s out!
