Hey y'all,

We have two urgent prayer requests I am asking all my prayer warriors to pray for:

1) The man who shot my husband has requested to be let out on bond AGAIN. This will be the 4th attempt. Unfortunately, we now have a new judge for our case and I have no idea how she will rule. Please pray HE DOES NOT GET OUT! The hearing is set for April 29th at 9am.  

(As a side note, it does look like the defense will be appealing the Stand Your Ground decision. Please pray that it is not overturned.)

2) Another huge request: Joshua's pain is getting worse. We don't understand why exactly and it is VERY frustrating to find anyone who can help him. He is a unique case - not just a spinal cord injury, but also a gun shot victim. At this point, all doctors have basically said there's nothing else, but I KNOW there has to be. 

Please pray for a doctor who actually understands his condition and that we can see them SOON. We have one appointment scheduled with someone that MAYBE can help, but the soonest appointment is months from now.

Right now, this greatly affects his quality of life. He is unable to do so many things due to his pain.

We ask y'all for help if you know anyone who could help him. If you need to ask someone if they can help, he is a paraplegic due to spinal cord injury and was shot 5 times. He has debilitating nerve pain as well as lower back pain. His main priority is greatly reducing his pain to improve his quality of life. Getting function back would be a bonus. We can travel wherever we need to go.

Praying about these issues and for a touch from God. Any judge that would let this guy out should not be on the bench - the defendant shot not once, but 5 times. That shows clear intent to kill. It would be irresponsible and a danger to the family.

We know God is with Joshua in the midst of his painful and horrible ordeal. Tell him to never give up hope! Have you heard of the Shepherd Center in Atlanta?? https://shepherd.org/ Could Joshua qualify for therapy there? I know two people who have gone there. One is Lance Williams, and former member of Shalimar UMC. He was paralyzed as a young man and now walks and drives. The other is a young son of an acquaintance of mine, Dr Damon Friedman. Damon and his family live in the Tampa area. These young men went to the Shepherd Center and it helped them. Both Lance Williams who lives in Mississippi and Damon Friedman are in Facebook. Your dad knows Connie Williams, Lance's mother. They could tell you about their time at the Shepherd Center, Atlanta. Another thought. Military trauma surgeons. Do you think you could research and find one? The military is in battles all the time and we have surgeons who are now very experienced with major medical combat trauma. I don't know that VA is the way for help, but there is a big VA Center and Gainesville. They may not talk to you because Joshua is not a military guy. But they might be willing to talk to a doctor who wants to reach out and ask for advice. There are several TraumaOne hospitals in FL; Jacksonville, Orlando... Maybe one of them can be brought in to consult? Love to you all

I don’t know if it’s a possibility for you, but I have had many many years of experience with them several times saving my husband‘s life because of very odd medical circumstances you don’t need a referral. Have you tried herbal treatments? I’m thinking comfrey salve with DMSO for pain and rehabilitation of the tissues around the affected area. You all have been on my heart since I heard about this. My brother has a brain injury from a car accident as well as many other bodily injuries mixed in there. I am all for natural things. There are some natural healing options that may help. Look into Healing with DMSO. It has helped my husband and I with muscle and nerve pain. Also Neuro feedback may also be an option. It retires the brain pathways. I am not sure about spinal cord injuries but it does wonders for stroke patients. It could be an option. I pray you find the help you need.
