Updates & HUGE Prayer Request

Picture: Joshua and I at midnight welcoming 2026! We are glad 2025 is over lol To say "we survived" is the understatement of the year.

My heavens, it's been 3 months since my last update. Time is flying.

Not a single day goes by that someone does ask us how Joshua is doing. We are so thankful for every single one of y'all who continue to reach out, pray for us, and support us.

OK...so for the updates.

I realize I left y'all hanging about his surgery ha Joshua did have 2 of the bullets removed. The surgery went very well (he was able to go home that day), but, unfortunately, it hasn't helped his pain like we thought it would.

I wish I could say that his pain has gotten better. It has and then it hasn't. It has been SO DIFFICULT to manage his pain and we still struggle with it.

This year we are trying other routes to see if we're able to get his pain to more manageable levels.

Please continue to pray that the Lord will give us wisdom and show us what to do.

For those who are curious, Joshua posted his own update on his YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/mf5feMTK9VQ?si=coUUZFuKKC5_WJGm so you can hear directly from him!

Now...for the serious, urgent prayer request right now.

The man who shot my husband has filed a "Stand Your Ground" motion. This means he is claiming self-defense.

However, here in Florida, this means that a special hearing is done before a judge to determine if this falls under the "Stand Your Ground" law of Florida.

If the judge rules this was self defense and that it falls under Stand Your Ground, he goes free and charges are dropped. That's the end.

If the judge rules against the Stand Your Ground motion, then the case continues as usual.

OBVIOUSLY, we want this motion to fail and it go before a jury trial.

The Stand Your Ground hearing is this Monday, February 16th. PLEASE PRAY.

Not only are we wanting justice, but also please pray for Joshua. He is a main witness and will have to testify at this hearing and have to recall every single thing. Pray that the Lord will sustain him through this because it is very traumatizing to him to have to recall all the details of that day.

Regardless of the outcome, I pray that the Lord's will be done. He is ultimately in control of all things and we will continue to trust Him and in Him alone throughout this whole journey.

Once again, we thank y'all for your continued support and prayers. And I promise not to leave y'all hanging this time when we have the results from this hearing :-)

Have you tried growing "wild opium lettuce" that has that milky sap for treating pain? Its legal and not related to actual opium

I’ll be praying fervently for your case before the judge, and also for healing and pain reduction for Joshua. And for strength and guidance during the hearing. Please look into DMSO for pain reduction and healing of scar tissue. See ‘A Midwestern Doctor’ writes extensively on it and all the studies done on it. We use it in our home for healing and pain.

I am and will continue to lift Joshua, you and family in prayer. Your faith is what keeps you both going. Joshua and you are beautiful testimonies for the Lord. I was a Granie bunch member and belong to your dashboard. Your YouTube has been a big part of my life. Might see you on the inner circle calls whenever you can make them.

We will be praying. I am wondering, have you tried acupuncture for the pain? If not, try to find an authentic acupuncturist (Chinese method), as I found it worked for my back pain when nothing else would.

Seems like it has taken him a long time to come up with the STAND YOUR GROUND MOTION! I don’t buy it & pray the judge is smart enough not to believe it either. I am so sorry Joshua is still in such pain & will have to go thru all that happened that day. He has suffered enough at the hands of this cruel man. My prayers continue for both of you & your children. I pray specifically for pain relief for Joshua & for Justice to be served in this case & the man cannot be set free. He must take responsibility for his actions & endure the punishment. Prayers & love for y’all. 🙏❤️

We must trust that the judge can recognize that someone who shoots a neighbor non-stop 8 times to the ground is NOT shooting in self defense! And I’ll definitely remain in prayer for continued healing & for God to take away Joshua’s pain. I’ll also pray for God to protect Joshua from any trauma in recalling the event and for you, Joshua and your whole family to feel safe under the protection of our Savior, in the name of Jesus.🙏 From Rebecca Kiser (friend of our dear Pastor Jeff Keeman)

There is a drug called Lyrica. It’s an anti seizure med, I think that deadens nerve endings resulting in pain control. It is not a narcotic. But it works. I know this firsthand. Ask your doctor about it. It may help.

The best way to manage pain is eating a lot of good butter and meats with fat. Fat is anti inflammatory Also need to drink water with salt or electrolytes. We will pray. You get wisdom. And he needs to remember. His brain NEEDS FAT.

Still praying and will continue to pray until you tell us to stop. May God hold you in his everlasting arms and give you strength and peace. I have a favorite book. (Usually it the book I’m with at the moment.). But I keep coming back to it. “Gentle and Lowly The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers,” by Dane Ortlund. It may not be your cup of tea. Maybe you can find a used copy. It so carefully and lovingly shows us the heart of Christ for his people. “his deepest heart for his people, weary and faltering in their journey towards heaven.”

There are patches called LifeWave that might help his overall condition. I use them and I have a condition called normal-pressure hydrocephalus. One is called Ice Wave that helps me with pain. It takes a few months to build up so it isn't immediate relief. There are no drugs in the patches.

Thanks for this post, Felicia, may our Lord grant you favor. I went to hear what Joshua had to say in his post- it was great to hear his voice! and how encouraging he was! May he continue to trust in the Lord, and overcome the darts of the evil one.

Hey Felicia, I have been praying for your husband’s situation for a few weeks now. I have listened to your channel since the fall when I restarted with FMF, but only recently realized the traumatic event that took place last March. Know that you and your family are being upheld in prayer and with the righteous hand of our Almighty God. Go in peace on February 16th, as the Lord goes before you and He is your shield, shepherd, friend, provider, counselor, Prince of Peace. He is THE GREAT I AM! You are not alone in this. ❤️

I highly recommend you (and everyone!) read all you can about DMSO on a substack called "The Forgotten Side of Medicine" by "A Midwestern Doctor". This guy does incredible research - even back to stuff from 100 years ago. It's very possible that DMSO can help your hubby, so I pray you'll look into it.

As a retired RN who has completely separated from allopathic medicine, I have 2 suggestions. I would try DMSO and a grounding sheet. We use both of these items and have been helpful. Of course, our issues are much less serious/complex. A Midwestern Doctor has many articles on DMSO. Find link below to one of them. We are praying for you almost daily. Special prayers for Monday. https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/dmso-is-a-miraculous-therapy-for?utm_source=substack&ut

Thank you for your prayers. We like to share an update regarding work and finances, and to thank you for your prayers in this area. We are thankful for God’s guidance concerning work. We are grateful that the job my husband, Karsten, was initially considering did not go through, as it became clear that the employer was unreliable. We see this as God’s protection. Karsten is still in the process of finding a job. The coming weeks, he will begin actively searching for a different type of position—one that we hope and pray will provide more stability and security for our family. Please continue to pray for wisdom, discernment, and God’s clear leading, as well as for financial provision during this season. We also kindly ask for prayer for the right new part-time job for me in the right time. Unfortunately, we also need to share difficult financial news. We have learned that we have lost the lawsuit, which has been very disappointing and has resulted in legal costs. At this moment, we are still waiting to hear what portion of these costs may be waived. We kindly ask for prayer for the maximum possible remission of these expenses, and for God’s provision and peace as we navigate the financial impact. Best wishes, Amanda

I agree with the statement below. Please research DMSO. They use it in burn units at hospitals to help with burns and inflammation. They also pack organs in a DMSO solution for transport. I've used it for when I broke my knee , a sore tooth and a zit on my face lol.... it has many uses. Amazon has a lot of reviews on what people have used DMSO for. I will continue to pray for ur family. I just found ur YT channel today. God's Blessings for your family.
