Marcus, Catherine, and Scott Johansson
Ever since Marcus’ brain surgery last summer, he gets MRIs periodically to assess the tumor situation in his brain. Sometimes they also scan the spine, which they did in early June. The report came back with some concern that the cancer had spread to his spinal fluid, which would have been serious. It was recommended that he have a lumbar puncture to determine if the cancer had spread there.
It was an anxious few weeks in between receiving the MRI report in mid-June and the results of the lumbar procedure in early July. However, finally the verdict was in - no evidence of cancer in the spine, thank God. So, we left a couple days later to visit his family in Sweden, a trip we had initially canceled for budget reasons, but his parents insisted on paying for. We are currently enjoying cooler weather, serene countryside surroundings, and valuable family time. We continue to be grateful for the incredible care of Marcus’ health providers and the generosity of others.
