Hi all, I am incredibly thankful that so little has been going on with Marcus since summer health-wise that I have not had to post any updates. I will say this again - the care team at Emory Winship Cancer Center is amazing. Marcus is still going there for treatment every three weeks, and having other appointments occasionally in between, but things have been stable since July, thank goodness. He did have a scan recently that seemed concerning, but the doctors advised us to wait until he has a second one later in December before raising any alarms.

With the stability this fall, we have been able to work on our bucket lists:) One of mine was visiting Acadia National Park in Maine, which we were able to do during Scott's fall break. We also finally got to see my brother David's family home. He moved there just before the pandemic and we planned to visit last September, but we had to cancel due to medical issues. However, that made us enjoy this trip even more -  spending time with family, eating lobster, and being outdoors in beautiful, rugged Maine (where Scott briefly swam.)

Then, over Thanksgiving, we went to Kentucky. The timing was good - both in terms of Marcus' health and because I wanted to do something different for the holiday, now that both of my parents are gone. And the money I received from their estate made a second trip this fall possible. You may wonder - why Kentucky, as it normally is not on people's bucket list? For me, I wanted to see Mammoth Cave National Park, and for Marcus, he had always wanted to go see a horse race at Churchill Downs. Some of you may not know this, but Marcus grew up taking care of and riding horses. He was even a jockey until he got too big! We also went to the Corvette Museum and the boys enjoyed racing head-to-head in the simulator. I rode along with Scott, and maybe that was a mistake - I was already worried about him getting his permit this coming spring and the ride did nothing to reassure me!

We are deeply thankful for the ability to make these trips, both physically and financially. I know that these memories will last a lifetime.
