You’re more a part of this journey than you might think!
I listened to a podcast the other day (yes, another one 😂) where the host, a former breast-cancer-surgeon-turned-functional-medicine-doctor, and her guest talked about a study showing that people battling cancer and other diseases fare better when they are connected to a close-knit community.

It was so impactful that the guest is even trying to establish a more communal support model for people walking through challenging health journeys together.
That got me thinking… and realizing just how incredibly blessed we are to have our families and friends (yes, that’s you!) surrounding us and supporting us through texts, messages, comments, phone calls, visits, and so much more.
In just the past three weeks, Jessica has:
- attended two family graduation parties
- a bridal shower with family
- held her new baby granddaughter
- spent nearly a full week with our daughter, Emery
- and enjoyed an afternoon with some of my out-of-town family
And we have even more family gatherings ahead, along with Family Camp in Alexandria next week with so many friends.
Emery even sacrificed her own hair to stand in support of Jessica. It was her way of saying, “Mom, I’m with you.”
That kind of love and support gives Jessica strength and motivation to keep going strong.
Quick health update:
Jessica continues to impress with how she and her body are handling the chemo treatments. It’s getting harder to come up with new ways to say that… but it’s still true.

There has been a slight uptick in side effects, but nothing too concerning at this point.
For our praying friends — keep praying. We truly believe it’s making a difference.
She also received another round of supplements and vitamins this week and has some additional blood work scheduled to help us better understand what her body is telling us.
Thanks again for caring and following along.
Onward!
