I shared with Jen every one or your messages of love, care and support we received in the last 18 hours! I wish you all could have heard her responses as I read them. She remembers you all and is overwhelmed with your generosity. I want you all to know how much this means to her, as the last few months have been a very dark and challenging time for her. THANK YOU ALL!
We have been working with Jen and all the support groups we can find (via MGB as well as state and town resources) to get basic care established including help with setting up Jen's medications, non-emergency transportation to doctor's visits, Physical Therapy, etc. There are many forms and each take a lot of time, we are prioritizing and tackling them one at a time.
Jen has an appointment this week with her Neurosurgeon at MGB. This will be a follow up visit to her last brain surgery, as well as set next steps and timing of possible second reparative surgery. We are also working to get an appointment scheduled with a vision specialist so that we have proper documentation to file for additional benefits.
On the home front, her living space is a concern and several of you have offered help to see if we can get some of her home repairs assessed, and hopefully remedied. We can't thank all you enough for the offers of help in this space as it has been a big weight on Jen. I know she will rest easier as we get a safer environment for her to heal and recover.
We ask that you continue to keep Jen in your prayers, and help us spread the word about Jen's situation by sharing this SupportNow page with other colleagues or practitioners in the Paramedic, EMT, and Firefighter fields.
