Jen wants you all to know how much your outpouring of support, prayers and calls and visits have meant to her. It has really brightened her days and lifted her spirits over the past week. So, THANK YOU SO MUCH and keep your prayers and support coming!

We have been able to get a more planned approach to covering rides and support for the myriad of Jen's medical appointments.  THANK YOU to those of you who have offered to help accompany Jen on longer rides into Boston, when her family members cannot cover.

We've also been able to coordinate a few calls and visits as Jen's medical appointments are more proactively getting laid out on a calendar. We will continue to work through your "lend a hand" support offers and get things calendared - in between when Jen has medical appointments.  Again, we can't thank all of you who have offered this type of support.

Jen has several big medical appointments coming up. One where she will meet with her new Neurologist this week, who will be managing Jen's long-term neurologic health, working in coordination with Jen's Neurosurgeon.  Jen also has a second brain surgery coming up next week. We ask that you keep Jen in your prayers and that this surgery goes smoothly.

Late in August, Jen will have her second battery of tests/exams with her Ophthalmologist to better determine what, if any reparative eye surgery or care can be provided to help improve he long-term outlook for sight in her right eye.
The results of these test will be vital for her qualifying for the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) services.  We believe Jen really needs this support to secure additional educational services and devices to help her function more independently given the significant damage to her retinas and vision loss, particularly in her left eye.

We are progressing, slowly, on applications to Federal and State organizations for benefits Jennifer may qualify for.  The forms' length and processes are very complex.  We ask for your prayers on these efforts as we are "learning" as we go. It is often a situation where we take a couple steps forward, only to learn we need to step back and complete an additional form or reach out to another organization or individual. It is daunting and can be exhausting at times!

This past week, we were able to get a few critical medical and housing related bills paid through your generous contributions.  As you can imagine, Jen's medical costs are and continue to be significant - even with her medical insurance through work.

We ask for your continued help to "spread the word" to others you know in the Paramedic, Fire-fighter and EMT communities; as well as anyone you know who  has a passion for helping those impacted by stroke, brain injury or blindness.

Every donation- no matter how small - adds up to help Jen during her long road to recovery and until longer term Federal / State support can be secured. Your passing on the word will continue to make a big impact as we navigate the next few months!

Jen sends her love and gratitude to you all!
