Good day team!

It has been wonderful to be home. However, recovery the past few days has been very difficult. The bottoms of my feet are red and tingly, along with the palms of my hands, and my scalp is very sensitive. It makes walking difficult and touching things trying. This is a know side effect of the Tacro I am taking to lower the T-Cells from fighting my body and starting a GVHD issue.

I have also been very sleepy to the point of 14 to 16 hours of the day. This is a side effect of my body trying to regrow and build all new the cells destroyed from the 4 different types of Chemo and the Radiation I was given.

Getting meals in, staying clean or rather sterile, having a daily 5 hour IV drop, and taking pills 3 times a day that now number 26 doses. Is quite a schedule to stay on top of. I also currently need to take a 27th pill 30 minutes before each meal to fight the nausea so I can chew. My taste buds no longer match my eye sight a side effect of treatment. I see peanut butter on a English Muffin but I tastes like some kind of a playdough with less salt.

Today started at 5:50am so I could get to out patient care, they had to pull all my blood twice as my first set was not usable past the CBC. I then went to the Infusion Center on campus and received a unit of blood. My Platelet count was strong which is great and other counts continue to be stable or grow. But I needed red blood cells. They also changed the dressing on my tri-line and scheduled me for surgery on Thursday early in the morning to do a Bone Marrow Pull.

Even with all of this, things are looking optimistic and I have all of you to thank for the support and not to mention my wife and mother who have joined me in isolation at the house helping to look after me.

I will continue to work to keep you all informed.
Jason

So glad to hear that the uphill battle is slowly but surely happening!
