Jade Cato's Recovery
We are in clinic this morning for chemo. The last week Jade has had some challenging side effects. She has got really bad cramps that made her arms and legs tense up. We have increased her water intake and labs look good, but it is very uncomfortable when it happens. We went to Tallahassee to a special dinner with her cousins and she got all dressed up. Sadly, her body started cramping in her arms/legs/ hands and we had to leave in a rush because she was so uncomfortable and unable to walk. She also has had a lot of pain and soreness in her port. It has been used so much the last 11 months and is accessed 3 to 4 times a week so it’s began to get calloused and very red. There is no infection, it is just very sore. She actually decided today because of how much it hurts to have an IV put in for blood work and to have quick access if needed for a reaction to chemo. This is a huge decision for Jade because she was so traumatized by the first IV the night we came to the ER before her diagnosis. Today after we are able to leave clinic Jade will get to meet her new baby cousin and is so excited! 🤍
