A new precautionary medication was introduced last night, and unfortunately the side effects hit around 2 a.m., so we didn’t get much rest. 

 

This morning’s labs showed that Jazmyne’s HGB and platelet counts have dropped below the normal range. 

• HGB normal: 12–16 → Jazmyne: 8 

• Platelets normal: 10–15.5 → Jazmyne: 7 

 

Because of this, she’ll be receiving both a blood transfusion and a platelet transfusion today. Along with and echocardiogram.

 

Her appetite is really struggling right now. She’s on IV fluids for hydration, but she needs to eat today to prevent weight loss and avoid needing an NG tube for feeding. 

 

She’s also spiking fevers and just isn’t her smiling, happy, joke-telling self. 

 

But we hold onto this promise today:
