Jazmyne started receiving another dose of chemotherapy today. Part of the regiment now that she has received transplant. This chemo is to help with graft versus host disease (GVHD).
With any chemotherapy the side effects that come with are nausea, exhausted, high blood pressure, fevers, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetitie. And our girl has been having all these symptoms all day.
And If things couldn’t any worse for her they had to access her medi-port with a needle for the first time so her anxiety was high.

With fevers protocol is to check all lines medi-port, and the 2 central lines (white and red port)for possible infections by withdrawing blood cultures to check for any potential infections or bacteria growth. Medi-port and red line port released blood with no complications. But white line port is clogged, it won’t withdrawal blood. Now a medication needs to given to help release the blockage. Picture a clogged drain and you need some Drano to clear the clog. And just like Drano it needs to seat in the line to release the line.

It’s been a rough day for our girl today… one of those days that makes your heart ache as a parent. But when I tell you this little girl has a mighty force inside of her, I truly mean it.

How can such a small body carry so much… endure so much… and still keep going? Only God. Only His hand. Only His strength holding her up when ours falls short.

She is facing her Goliath head-on, and even in her weakness, she is powerful. She didn’t have to say it, but she was living out scripture:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

And today, that power was written all over her.

Prayer Request:
•Jazmyne fever and nausea subside
•blood cultures come back negative for any bacteria
•central line medication would clear up her blocked central line
•Jazmyne appetite would come back
•Blood pressure regulate back to 115/60 (currently running at 180/97)
