Jazmyne continues to have all the symptoms from yesterday post along with sever abdominal pain that started last night.Blood labs, rapid weight gain, abdominal swelling, jaundice, elevated bilirubin levels, abdominal pain are all factors that reflect symptoms of VOD. 
VOD is a severe, potentially fatal liver failure occurring when small veins in the liver are blocked. 

The treatment plan is 6 high doses of steroids over the next 3 days. The goal is to reduce the inflammation in her liver. While we are praying for healing, we’re also aware that steroids can come with side effects…elevated blood pressure and increased aggression. So yes… please pray for Greg and me too 😩

Jazmyne received steroids during her first transplant for other medical conditions. We’ve walked this road before, and we still remember just how intense the effects were…not only on her little body, but on all of us emotionally. Steroids can cause significant aggression, both in the moment and linger for weeks, and that reality is heavy for us to face. It’s incredibly difficult to watch your child struggle with emotions and reactions she can’t control, knowing it’s the medicine meant to help her heal. We step into this again with weary hearts, trusting God to carry us through what we already know can be hard.

We place every hour, every lab, every reaction, and every emotion into God’s hands. We trust Him to go before us, to cover Jazmyne completely, and to sustain us with patience, grace, and peace. No matter what these next 72 hours hold, we stand on faith—knowing He is present, He is faithful, and He is still working miracles.

Prayer Request:
-Her liver function levels back to normal
-The effects of the steroids are minimal and not long-term
-God guards Greg’s heart and mine during these 72 hours, helping us not take personally anything Jazmyne may say or how she may act under the influence of the steroids
-Her body begins producing healthy white blood cells, bringing protection and strength where she needs it most
