Harper's Recovery
Updates have been a little harder for me to write lately. Harper has been doing fairly well, but we are definitely more aware of any possible changes or declines. She’s been sleeping more and prefers to lie on the couch or in her bed most of the time, but she’s still been doing really well with her teacher a few times a week.
Last week, we had a nice visit with my mom and sister, and we even got out for a family dinner at Texas Roadhouse, which felt really special.
Today, she had her counts checked, and they looked good. The plan is to start radiation on Thursday. Next week begins her next cycle of chemo, which will be five days of IV treatment. We’ve asked if she can be admitted for that week—since she has to be sedated for radiation and chemo days are so long, having the extra support instead of going back and forth each day would really help.
We would appreciate your continued prayers and positive thoughts that Harper can tolerate the full abdominal radiation with minimal side effects and that it brings her lasting relief.
