A Difficult Update on Harper

Harper's Recovery

It’s been a long week. While we were relieved to hear Harper’s MRI results on Monday, her belly was becoming noticeably distended, which led to a CT scan on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the scan showed that the tumor on her liver is growing again, and what had looked like it was gone in her abdomen has returned. I can’t begin to express how devastating it is to hear this news.

We are continuing with both IV chemo and oral chemo, and we are also moving forward with radiation. We met with the radiation oncologist today. Next week Harper will have another CT scan to map out a plan for her radiation treatments, and she will begin radiation the following week.

We are hopeful that radiation will help make Harper more comfortable.

We are incredibly grateful for every prayer, message, and act of support for Harper. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as we walk through these next steps.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Dearest St. Peregrine, faithful servant of God, I come to you today humbly seeking your intercession. St. Peregrine, patron of those battling cancer and other disease, you devoted your life entirely to God, tirelessly tending to God’s children battling sickness and poverty and constantly preaching His word. I beseech thee, o mighty St. Peregrine, to pray for me, that God may heal and protect me from any affliction, should it be His will, and that I may trust entirely in Him, as you modeled so courageously. St. Peregrine, I ask you to join me today in praying for those whose cancer has returned: those who have already faced this ugly disease and who prepare to battle it again. Pray that they may not tire in their journey. St. Peregrine, pray that they will trust in God, as you did. I also ask for you to pray for this special intention of mine: (state your intention). St. Peregrine, to whom many miracles are attributed, pray that God may grant this request. Pray also that despite the suffering I face, I can surrender myself to God’s will.

Praying for all of you. Dear Lord we ask for you to heal this beautiful young lady. We ask that all illness be irradicated from her young body. Lord, she is your child and we all pray for you to heal her in Jesus name and love and support for her entire family through all this. Lord hear our prayer for this precious child and family. Amen
