Voila' A New Routine

There is some routine in our lives.
So much so, the days often blur together. However, there is increasing confusion and the routines aren’t as easily remembered. “Did Greg get outside today, or was that yesterday?” “ Did we make that call or return that text?” “Did the doctor’s office say they would call us back…or are we to call them?”
One of the routines we now have is morning and evening medicines. It is shocking how we can “totally forget” to take the medicines “on time” or “was that today or yesterday?” Even with a “gifted” medicine box labeled, “Morning and Evening”, we still seem to scratch our heads, “are you sure that was this morning?”
As many of you have found the most precious, thoughtful ways to bless and support us, one of those gifts have most recently begun to help. Our dear friend (of many talents) has a gift for photography. For the last many years, she has given us a calendar of her top 12 photographs of the year with a verse for each month.
A consistent frustration for Greg is the confusion associated with the time of day, date and the day of the week. I daily write out all that information as he arrives at the kitchen table or the refrigerator (whichever comes first.) Another gift is a beautiful clock that lights according to the time of day to know whether it is 3:00 am or 3:00 pm. This persistent difficulty seems particularly discouraging, because Greg has always been “a boss” about these things. (In the past I could ask him in the middle of the night the time, without his opening his eyes, Greg was more often than not, spot on.)
The calendar for 2025 holds much of great expectancy as well as the unknown. Looking at this year's gift together, Greg and I cried turning each month of the 2025 calendar, reading its verse, knowing only God knows how meaningful each picture and verse will be as we expectantly watch Him in His providential role.
But, back to the routine of pill taking. In the dilemma of how to assure us Greg’s medicines have been taken on time, Greg came up with a brilliant idea. Because time is difficult, if we read a verse prior to the taking of the pills, he is more likely to remember the verse we read and discussed than the actual taking of the pills. Voila’ the problem is solved. However, just in case he doesn’t remember the pills that were taken, we are writing the AM and PM verses on the day our beautiful 2025 calendar.
We thank you for your prayers, well aware we didn’t create this solution. God sent us His solution to encourage our hearts to remind us whatever is going on with the pills HIS WORD…IS TRUE.
Providentially, as we move into the second month of our calendar. GOD. IS. IN. CONTROL!! We trust Him! Thank you for your continued prayers and great love. HE. IS. ABLE! We love HIM and we love you too!
