Tomorrow will be the sixth month marker - the day Greg passed out without warning.
Today - Valentine’s Day 2025 feels a lot like Thanksgiving.
When we were listening to the Doctor give us Greg’s diagnosis almost six months ago - Greg opened his phone, googled the diagnosis, interrupted the Doctor and said to Hopie and me, “Don’t look this up.”

However, what wasn’t shown when you hit the search button, is what we have found to be the most true. Over the almost 6 months, GOD has been HIS AWESOME SELF!
IN HIS GRACIOUSNESS - HE allowed us to finish our trip of a lifetime to the Pacific Northwest.
IN HIS GOODNESS - HE has us living just minutes away from a fantastic Neuroscience/Cancer hospital with an amazing medical staff to have us start this journey on.
IN HIS KINDNESS - HE has allowed our family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and strangers to reflect Him in their words of encouragement, text and cards. Including their offers to care for, sit with us and go and do for us.
IN HIS GENEROSITY - we have been abundantly given to through such a diverse and thoughtful variety of gifts.
And though this list has no ending…
IN HIS MERCY - HE has heard every prayer. From the youngest of prayer warriors to the most mature. From Bible study groups, churches and classrooms, to our own mouths and those around the world we have not met yet.
Today, this Valentine’s, we celebrated with a breakfast date at one of our favorite spots, Farmer Girl. We didn’t take for granted the wait staff we haven’t seen since July. We didn’t take for granted the toasted biscuits with sausage gravy. We celebrated the memories we have from previous meals at Farmer Girl, with our children, grandchildren, our moms and others. We didn’t even take for granted hearing oldie hits that were playing.
So through tears - We celebrate this Valentine’s as Thanksgiving. Continue to pray with us for God’s plan, God’s will and a revival. There is much to be Thankful for this Valentine’s Day.
