Question of the Day…. Every Day.

I am excited to share I have now finished my 30 treatments of Radiation and Chemotherapy!  We're now in a "waiting period"  until Nov 8th when I will have test done to measure the effectiveness of the last 6 weeks of treatment.

And so here is something we are learning in this journey of faith...

So, I am asked frequently, “How are you doing?”, or even “How are you feeling?”.  Always coming from the most loving and well-intending people, these questions seem almost automatic as we encounter our friends who really care and want to know.  However, for me, it’s really hard to answer those questions in a simple and quantifiable way.  How am I doing?  Well….I have never done this before, so I am not really sure if I am doing “good” or maybe “not so good”.  I can tell you that the caregivers and doctors are encouraged that I am maintaining mobility and balance, I am still able to get out of the house when my energy level allows for that, and my mindset seems more settled. I’m told my focusing is still possible.  ( I laugh here, because I am not really know for focusing at anytime! ).

But back to these questions. When asked, I don’t simply assess my “current physical condition” and then respond with a quick answer.  I believe the question deserves an answer that includes a true reflective response including Body, Mind, and Spirit.

I can share with deep gratitude that even though my body and mind are under attack from the cancer cells, my spirit is being renewed, refreshed and encouraged daily. We are blessed to have great people around us from our community of faith, and they are constantly serving our family or offering their time, talent or resources. That part of the journey has been amazing….to the Glory of GOD!!

I would never ever choose this path, but walking it with The Savior has again demonstrated how He carries us and how He ministers to us in such miraculous ways. I can’t say I fully understand, but I do know for sure He has blessed us in many significant ways, even during the darkest of our days.

That’s all for now, but we can say with the Hymn writer of old… “It is well with my soul!”   Thanks for your prayers!!

Greg, so glad to hear that you are getting the support you need. It has been many years since I have seen you and Joannie, but I remember you both fondly. I so admire your willingness to share your journey with us. And although my heart breaks to hear all you are going thru, I know that God is right there with you, holding you when you are not strong enough to hold yourself. Continued prayers for you and your family.

Greg,
God's got you brother! His Word tells us that He will carry you through every situation...

1 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor. The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
2 The Lord protects them and
keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies.
3 The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.
Psalm 41:1-3

I'm Praying That God Will:
1) Give you joy!
2) Rescue you!
3) Protect you!
4) Keep you alive!
5) Give you prosperity!
6) Nurse you!
7) Restore You To Health!!!!
