TEE -- a lay explanation

A TEE is an internal ultrasound -- transesophageal echocardiogram, it goes down the esophagus to view the heart. George is getting the full spectrum cardiac care. This is what allows the surgeons to determine how the LVAD is working and it helps them monitor how the medication is impacting the right ventricle.
