George Hoye
George is still in a holding pattern as his body continues the hard work of healing. There haven't been any major changes, which, at this stage of recovery, can simply mean giving his body the time it needs.
He remains on the ventilator while his heart continues to recover. The medical team is gradually reducing some of his medications to evaluate how well his heart is working alongside the LVAD with less medication support. His kidneys are still struggling, and he continues to have a fever. The doctors have not been able to identify an infection, which is reassuring. The fever is causing his body to work harder than they would like, which means he needs more time to heal.
We know so many of you have been faithfully praying, checking in and asking for updates. We are incredibly grateful for every prayer and message of support. Please continue praying for healing, for wisdom for his medical team and for strength for George and our family as we take one day at a time.
