George Hoye
George has had a bit of a rocky 24 hours following his LVAD surgery. Right now, the right side of his heart needs a little more support to keep up with the left side, and his medical team is working through several different treatments to help strengthen it.
Today the team performed a TEE to get a closer look at his heart and help guide the next steps in his care. He has also continued to have a high fever, and they are working to determine the cause while treating it aggressively. His kidneys are also struggling, which can happen after a major surgery like this and the team is closely monitoring and supporting them as well.
For now, they expect to keep him sedated and on the ventilator for a few more days while his body has time to rest and heal.
Although this recovery has been more challenging than we had hoped, he is in very good hands, and his team is doing everything they can to support him.
If there's one thing we know about George, its that he has proven time and time again that he is a fighter. We are taking things one day at a time, remining hopeful, and trusting that each day will bring progress.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support. They mean more to our family than words can express.
