Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. Three things that are not easy to do. How often do we find ourselves doing one out of three? Or none out of three? When we suffer, it can be easy to pray continually for relief in the moment. Or grumble or despair about our circumstances. But God put these three things in this order for a reason. “Rejoice always” is first. Why? What do we rejoice in? We rejoice in our eternal redemption in Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the fact that there will be a day when there will be no more suffering. When that is on the forefront of our minds, it shapes how we pray. Our prayers become more eternally focused and less short-sighted. We begin to see more and more evidence of his goodness and faithfulness to us throughout our day in the midst of the broken world we live in. We are then reminded that God really does love us as his children and is working things for our good. And we can give thanks in all circumstances because of this.
We have passed $20,000! Praise to God and thank you to all of you. We are almost there! Please continue to share and pray. With the Lord's help, we will reach our goal.
