Hi guys! We have been busy with therapy for Finn and are really hopeful for the ways all of this is going to benefit him.
We are currently in the middle of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This is our first round of 40 “dives” and have completed 13 so far! The pressurization process was challenging for Finn the first week but he has adjusted to it and is handling it so well now!
We can’t wait to share how this treatment helps him!!
Honestly, this is a very time consuming commitment, spending over 3 hours almost every day driving there and back plus the time it takes for treatment. It is well worth it but has held a lot of challenges.
Since Finn cannot handle a car ride without support this has required both Levi and I to go to these appointments, making it really difficult for him to work right now.
Please keep praying for provision over this season and grace for the busy schedule.
We are also a couple weeks out from going back to Austin for another functional neurology intensive! This was very beneficial for Finn last year and are counting down the days until we go back. This therapy does wonders for calming his nervous system and setting him up for success to make progress in all areas. Between being really sick after Christmas, teething, and medication weaning his nervous system has been asking for further support so it is going to be really good timing!
Throughout all of this we are doing our best to also support his body consistently through chiropractic care and cranial sacral therapy. His regular OT has not been as consistent since HBOT has taken so much of our time but everything will resume as normal once we finish!
A lot of the benefits from HBOT come after the treatment is done though and helps Finn’s body make bigger strides in his other therapies so our goal is to be very intentional in those following weeks.
We continue to research, talk with different providers, and learn from other families. There are a lot of treatments we would love to continue to do again and others that we haven’t done yet that are huge for healing with brain injuries. While this will be an ongoing process the sooner after a brain injury you can do some of these treatments the more impactful they are. That’s one of the reasons we are fighting so hard right now!
There really is hope for healing and progress but it is not without sacrifice and work. We are fully committed to this precious boy of ours, are deeply grateful for the support that has allowed us to come this far, and ask you to continue to walk this journey with us.
You guys have been the hands and feet of Jesus to us. This journey has changed us for the better in so many ways. Finn is a fighter and we know God is going to continue to make an impact with his life.
