Emmett’s Journey
I apologize that we have not updated since January 2026, Emmett has started a new Instagram page to connect with his peers and to share our updates. I will try and be better about trying to share on here too.
Emmett finished his first intensive at AKAP in January 2026, and has good head control. He is still working on integrating his STNR and TLR reflex. These reflexes make it hard for him to hold his head up and keep his arms straight or weight bare through them.
In April 2026, Emmett had his first outpatient EEG since coming off his antiseizure medication, and a follow up with neurology. Emmett reached the best news we could have hoped for at this appointment. He is no longer high risk for seizure, but does have slower brain activity due to his injury from acute necrotizing encephalitis.
We were cleared for our trip to Texas for a three week intensive at Kinactive! This three week intensive is only possible because of the amazing Walking with Cora foundation! Emmett is currently in the middle of this intensive. They are focusing on his little arms as he lives in extension (his arms pulled back and up). He has made some progress so far, but still is working hard.
The support that we have received and continue to receive is what makes this all possible for him to go to these intensives. Please continue to share and support his journey!
