Emmett’s Journey
Emmett has completed his first week of his two week Physical and Occupational intensive therapy! This week he tried something new.. low level laser therapy. Low level laser therapy helps reduce inflammation in the brain which allows for his brain to get greater oxygen in those areas. We are happy to say that it seems to have helped Emmett a lot with his emotional regulation, and motor processing. Emmett was able to stay calm during his sessions, have some independent play post sessions and is babbling more!
Emmett has a lot of retained primitive reflexes and he is working hard on integrating them and building trunk strength. Emmett is currently working on intergrading his TLR, STNR and ATNR reflex. All of these reflexes make it hard for him to hold his head up for a long period of time, and push through his arm to hold himself up. Emmett is also working on crossing midline with his hands, bring his hands together for play, and the sensory in his hands.
We are thankful for Aunt Brandie for making his trip with us so sissy could be here for the first week!!
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers for Emmett. He will need many more of these intensives but we are impressed with the progress he has made thus far!
