First appt of 2026!

January 2, 2026-
Elise had her 3 month routine appt today at Lifescape, Sioux Falls for her tone. Back in October she had x-rays and we got those results right away (back in October- but I don't think I updated them here) but today we went over those again and so we could ask some more questions face to face, along with doing her routine assessment.

Her routine assessment went well. No changes and she is doing really well. Her AFO's are getting small which means she's a growing girl so in 3 months when we go back again we will have those fitted again to get bigger ones! Otherwise, he said just keep up what we are doing!

As far as her x-ray goes. Kids with high tone like Elise, are at high risk for hip dysplasia. Hip dysplasia is a condition where the hip joint, a ball-and-socket structure, doesn't form correctly, making the socket too shallow to fully support the thigh bone's ball. Elise's left hip is normal. Her right hip is 25% out. When it is 30-40% out that is when a referral would take place to Pediatric Orthopedic. Things that will help is more time in her stander/weight bearing. The more movement and less tone the better! She has great movement and doing well otherwise. We will repeat x-rays again at the end of the year in hopes for no worsening hip dysplasia.

We are hopeful for how well Elise does in her stander, the hard work at home, the help from therapy and Dr. Crawford in Texas in a couple weeks, we can avoid anything getting worse and Elise's tone continues to improve. 🙏

(Daddy and Hudson opted out of a photo at today's appt! We'll get them in the next picture! 😉)
