I went back to pre-op
Talked to both surgeons and Anesthesiologist
One of the doctors who checked him out last Monday
The OR nurse with him is a super kind. Reassuring us that he has two of the best surgeons in the world
Told us what to expect later today. And promised to take good care of him
They are :
*taking out the floating lens
*Taking out the vitreous fluid ( we were told that the eye does just fine without it and it could clog the drain)
*inserting a drain into the back area of the eye.
All this to keep the pressure down and prevent permanent/ worse damage
Healing time about two weeks
They like to wait 2 months for the second surgery They eye responds better with the wait.
They have the OR scheduled for him from 7:45 - 10:00
They are giving him a general anesthesia using propaphal which is supposed to cause less nausea. They will also give him meds to keep nausea down.
He is frightened. Of course. But has been reassured by everyone he has seen that he is young and healthy.
He is in good hands 💕

⭐️ Dom is in recovery.
I spoke with both docs. Both said surgery went very well
Follow up tomorrow morning with Dr Handa and the glaucoma people
Then follow up with Dr Ramulu (who put the drain in) on Friday.
Dr Ramulu is going to reach out to a doc in Toronto who may be able to help with the second surgery. We will see how that works out. We do have some time.
Thank you again, for keeping Dom in your thoughts. This is the beginning of a very long road for him 🤍
