Today was Day 1 of 30 for Radiation/Chemo. Dana started the day back at Fitness Underground, doing a modified workout to start her day strong and move her body. Her neurooncologist encouraged her to return to being active, as it will help her body process the treatment and boost her (already positive) mood.

From what Dana relayed, the not knowing what it was going to be like was worse than what it was. The procedure took about 15 minutes in a cold room (but, she had plenty of warm blankets!), and they placed the mask she had fitted a couple of weeks ago on her to help keep her in place and protected. She also didn't feel anything during the treatment itself. And thank you to the "Dana's Drivers" who are accompanying her on the treatments over the next 6 weeks.

Photo today is from her appointment.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1. They will need meals as she continues her treatments. Side effects from radiation build over time, so the end of October/early November will be a high need time for meals. To sign up, scroll down on the home page to the LEND A HAND section and check for a date that shows a need.
2. We've set a preliminary fundraising goal of $50,000. This will go to help with travel costs to/from Duke (estimated at about every other month) as well as their out of pocket medical expenses once their deductible resets. This is the same effort as a GoFundMe, just on a different platform. If you have donated, thank you! If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing the following link to your friends and families - sharing is free and it goes a long way for supporting them: https://www.supportnow.org/dana-stein/donations/new
3. COLORADO LOCALS: Thursday is Bingo night. Please come out to Erie Social Club, grab a small bite to eat and a drink, and support the Steins. This is family friendly, and there will be prizes!
