This past Thursday night, the Erie community rallied behind Dana and Josh for Pumpkins + Purpose Bingo Night at Erie Social Club. The place was packed and in total, about $3,150 was raised to support their financial needs as they travel to and from Duke. The collage show a bunch of images from it, but we were all having too much fun to take many photos. Some local Erie businesses donated amazing prizes to drive up the interest in playing the rounds, many of whom are Dana's favorite places. Thank you to: Golden Ember Salon, Lottie Lane/Sunday Candle Company, Fox Dog Coffee, Tiffy's Cakes, Almond Butter Apparel, Jessica Luginbill Realtor, Flatiron Custom Engraving and Gifts, Rin Murphy (local Erie resident who makes reclaimed wood signs), The Madeleine Camille Foundation, and Erie Social Club for making this event possible and a huge success!!
On Friday, Dana wrapped up Week 1 of treatment. Thank you to the Dana's Drivers who are taking her to/from appointments - it means a lot to her to have not only the transportation but the emotional support! She doesn't have side effects yet, and we're hoping that stays that way. She's back to the gym (doctor approved!) and modifying as appropriate to keep her body moving - another way to prevent side effects and keep her body in top shape to keep fighting.
Also on Friday, Dana received final test results from her biopsy. While the news wasn't what they were hoping for (they were hoping for some genetic markers), it doesn't change the fact that she's in the best hands for treatment and that Duke approaches every person individually vs. a one-size-treats-all approach.
Sunday was Josh's birthday, so they celebrated with their traditional balloons and coffee cake and brunch and dinner out. Dana's parents also came in town for the week.
Today starts Week 2 of treatment. Continue to send all the thoughts, prayers, good vibes, etc. their way!
