Cody's Comeback
I can’t even believe I’m typing this… but Cody is officially gearing up for stem cell, and the last two weeks have been a whirlwind.
Because his most recent scans were so incredible (still in awe 😭), the stem cell team honestly wasn’t expecting to see us this soon. So now we’re in full “go time” mode, getting all of his workup done quickly.
Today alone, Cody has:
- Echo + EKG to check how strong and healthy his heart is before stem cell
- CT scan of his chest, abdomen, and pelvis to confirm further disease response and establish a baseline before transplant
- Audiology appointment chemo can affect hearing, so they want to make sure everything looks good
- Pediatric dentist appointment any dental issues need to be addressed before stem cell to reduce infection risk
Later today, I’ll be meeting with his stem cell team for a virtual consult, and next week we’ll head back downtown for final blood work, respiratory swabs, and to sign all the official consents.
Whew. It’s a lot. And honestly… I still can’t wrap my head around how far he’s come.
Just weeks ago, Cody’s body was literally filled with cancer from head to toe. Now? Only two small lymph nodes remain involved. That is something only God could do. We are overwhelmed with gratitude.
God is so, so good.
God is so, so good.
So many of you keep asking how you can help, and the answer is simple: please keep praying. Don’t stop. We truly believe prayer is carrying Cody through this.
We’ve also updated our meal list for the next 2–3 months as hospital stays ramp up, and DoorDash gift cards are always helpful during long days at the hospital (hospital food is… not Cody’s favorite 😅).
And to those of you who continue to give, support, and even tithe monthly for Cody, please know it does not go unnoticed. We are endlessly thankful. Your generosity is a gift we will never be able to fully put into words.
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
We feel that joy. And we feel your love. Thank you for walking this road with us 🤍
