We have a little update to share, a smidge of a setback, but all is well!

Last week brought a small setback when Cody's PICC line became infected. Thankfully, his team acted quickly, removed the PICC line on Friday, and started IV antibiotics. We are so grateful that after several days of treatment, he finished antibiotics yesterday.

But here's the exciting news...

🎉 Cody officially got his new PORT! 🎉

For those who may not know, a port is a small device placed completely under the skin that allows easy access for treatments, blood draws, medications, and infusions. Unlike a PICC line, there are no external tubes hanging out of his chest. This means Cody can finally do so many of the normal kid things he's missed for nearly a year.

💙 Swim
💙 Take baths
💙 Run, play, and be a little boy without constantly worrying about protecting a line

It feels like such a gift after everything he has been through...to fully see his chest free of any devices is a huge feat.

Our next big step begins THIS Friday, June 19, when Cody starts immunotherapy. He will be admitted Friday and stay through Tuesday for this first round. We are incredibly thankful to be moving forward in treatment and would love your continued prayers as we enter this next chapter.

🙏 Prayer Requests:
• Protection from infection and complications
• Smooth admission and treatment this weekend
• Minimal side effects from immunotherapy
• Strength and comfort for Cody
• Wisdom for his medical team
• Peace, endurance, and rest for our family

Meal support and Door Dash gift cards are also deeply appreciated during this season as we navigate another hospital stay.

Thank you for every prayer, message, meal, and act of kindness. We truly feel carried by this community and by God's faithfulness through every step of this journey.

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8 ❤️
