Cody's Comeback
Cody handled his second round like a champ! He hasn’t had any fevers (knock on wood), and he’s been out eating, playing, and somehow has more energy than his older brothers. We’re so thankful to be home more this round and incredibly grateful for our care team.
This morning, his hemoglobin dropped to 6.1, so he's currently receiving a blood transfusion at IU North. Platelets also dropped, but not quite low enough for a transfusion—likely Monday.
Riley has been amazing, both downtown and at North. The kindness, efficiency, and punctuality have been such a breath of fresh air compared to the adult medical world we were used to.
Next steps: Cody will have labs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday next week to prepare for his Stem Cell Revival. We’ve also had thoughtful discussions with his team about doing one stem cell transplant (called BuMel) instead of two (CEM, or tandem transplants). BuMel has lower long-term toxicity while still offering strong overall and event-free survival rates. We’re doing everything we can to give Cody the best shot at long-term health and a good quality of life. More to come on that :)
Next round of chemo is set for August 13.
Please continue to lift Cody up in prayer—we are asking boldly and specifically, and we want our sign-up for prayers FULL. 🙏💛
