Cody's Comeback
Yesterday Cody started Cycle 4 of chemotherapy with vincristine, cytoxan, and epirubicin. He is handling everything like a champ, and the team is giving him medications to protect his bladder, kidneys, prevent nausea/vomiting, headaches, and more. Thankfully, this will only be a 2-day stay this round.
Looking ahead:
- CT scan: Sept 19
- Surgery (pending scan): Sept 30
- If he needs one more round of chemo before surgery, the surgery date will shift to Oct 11.
We are so thankful for every prayer covering him. Please specifically pray that he tolerates this chemotherapy well and that his primary tumor continues to shrink. Right now, it is on his adrenal gland, wrapped around his right kidney artery, and touching a bit of his bowel, which makes removal more complex.
✨ A little blessing from yesterday: Cody’s white blood cell count (WBC) was 11,000—completely in the normal range for healthy children! For context, most pediatric cancer patients run between 1,500–3,000 WBC and that is considered really good. His doctor was absolutely shocked to see Cody’s immune system responding and fighting so strongly. 🙌 GOD IS SO GOOD.
If you haven’t already, please sign up for a prayer slot for Cody—we would love to see every space filled with love and faith covering him. 💛
LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH,
The Scotts
