We have a LOT happening for our little guy over the next few weeks, and we wanted to share a few really fun and meaningful ways you can rally around Cody! We have had many of you reach out about next steps for him and how to help...you all never cease to amaze our family.

We are still completely amazed by the miracle God continues to write in this little boy’s story. Through surgeries, chemo, two stem cell transplants, radiation, immunotherapy, hospital stays, PICU scares, and more than we ever could have imagined, Cody continues to fight, smile, play, laugh, and LIVE.

Our 2nd Annual Cody’s Comeback Golf Outing is happening at River Glen hosted by Ryan Langdon, and we are SO excited!

Last year was an absolute BLAST. It was one of those days where you could feel how many people were behind Cody and our family, and we cannot wait to do it all over again!

3. SUPPORT CODY’S HOLISTIC CARE

ALL PROCEEDS from both the golf outing and Cody’s Comeback merchandise will go directly toward Cody’s holistic care at Biodynamic Wellness.

So what does "holistic care" mean for Cody?  It means looking at the whole child, not just the cancer.  Cody’s body has been through an extraordinary amount.

Chemotherapy is designed to attack rapidly dividing cancer cells, but it can also affect healthy rapidly dividing cells. Stem cell transplantation places an enormous stress on the body while the immune and blood-forming systems are rebuilt. His surgeries have required his body to heal from major physical trauma. Radiation can affect surrounding healthy tissues in addition to its intended target. And immunotherapy, while an incredibly important part of his treatment, intentionally activates the immune system and can come with significant inflammatory and other side effects.

After everything Cody has endured, his body doesn't simply go back to normal the day treatment ends.

There can be fatigue, inflammation, nutritional depletion, gastrointestinal changes, immune-system disruption, organ stress, organ failure, nerve symptoms, hormonal changes, changes in growth and development, fertility issues, bone and muscle issues, and other treatment related effects that may need to be monitored and supported over time.

That is why we believe supporting Cody’s body during treatment and especially after treatment is so important.

It is about coming alongside his conventional cancer care and helping support the systems that have been under incredible stress: nutrition, digestion, detoxification and elimination pathways, immune function, inflammation, mitochondrial and cellular health, sleep, movement, nervous-system regulation, and overall recovery.

We will be sharing a daily prayer for Cody each day leading up to his scans, and we would absolutely LOVE for you to join us.

Pray with your kids.
Pray at work.
Pray before bed.

However you do it, just pray.  We have watched God perform miracle after miracle in Cody’s life, and we are going to continue believing Him for the next one.
