Hello Lovelies,
Yesterday’s meeting with the surgery PA was great. Two more drains removed!! She’s really pleased with the way everything is healing up. Since we took all the tape off me last week, no new blisters. And, AND, she gave me exercises to do several times a day-which I promptly overdid at home, while Ryan was away at his Physical Therapy.
I cannot put into words the freedom I feel having only one drain line to protect, on only one side of my body. To not be poked by the ends of the line that’s knotted to the drain under my right arm every time I sit down, shift in the chair, or stand up.
Now t-rex mode is activated- I can barely move my arms again as muscles that have been so recently brutalized in surgery scream at me when I so much as take a deep breath.
There is other news. This morning started off crunchy. Yesterday I hired a specialist to make sense of our medical bills and insurance statements.
Also yesterday we had two dear friends bring us meals at practically the same time (a failure that I am sure I was the cause of). In a rom-com that would have been a point of conflict and hurt feelings, but luckily in the ecology of my communities everyone was really great about it. Both dinners last night came with chocolate desserts. I’m sure that helped Ryan continue to be great while he Tetris’ed our comical abundance of deliciousness into our very apartment sized refrigerator.
Thank you all for your love, your support, and your interaction! You are literally fueling my recuperation.
