Tomorrow is 2 weeks after surgery. It has been a wild 2 weeks. I was there when Christyna woke from the anesthesia, struggling to understand what her sleepy thoughts were trying to convey. Christyna has come so far since then. Some things look worse (by my eyes) but the medical team said it would look this way. This is how healing looks. I’ve been pretty stoked that Christyna has been in communication with her medical team to walk her/us through this. 

She keeps amazing me. We went in a walk this morning, in the already brutal heat. She knew when to call it. When she got word that the AC was out at the office, she hauled herself (and me) down to the office to get the flowers that were delivered there from her clients. She has boundless energy and drive. Living in Houston is like living in a crucible. Christyna has been purified and strengthened through 25 years of heat. I melt. I try to keep up. 

Stay cool and have lots of popsicles. Outshine are what I use to bribe Christyna. I tell her they have protein in them. I’m just using them to keep her hydrated. One of us will send an update after the checkup.
